Plastic Earth Project
Alternative ways to recycle plastic bags!
Pincushion is thrilled to be hosting the Plastic Earth Project workshop! Plastic Earth is an environmental project presented through artistic expression and community engagement. In this workshop there will be a quick introduction about the project including facts regarding the environmental impact of plastic bags. Following the introduction, participants will learn how to make yarn out of used plastic bags and ways to use the 'plarn' such as braiding bracelets and weaving. All materials are included! Participants are encouraged to bring their own plastic bags to use or donate to the project! This workshop is open to all ages! (Younger children will need parental assistance with the use of scissors) Our goal with this workshop is to - Create awareness about plastic waste - Teach an alternative way to upcycle plastic bags - Inspire the community to be mindful of their plastic use
