Who We Are

Abby

Owner

Hello! I'm Abby, my pronouns are she/her, and I guess I'm the boss lady around here! I'm originally from Kansas where I received my BA in Theatre from Wichita State University. I started working professionally in theatre as a wardrobe intern for Music Theatre of Wichita. I toured briefly with Vee Corporation as a Wardrobe Technician before moving to Las Vegas. After moving to Las Vegas, I worked as a Wardrobe Attendant for Cirque du Soleil for about 5 years before deciding to open Pincushion. Since moving to Vegas, I have designed and coordinated costumes for various local theatres including Las Vegas Little Theatre, Super Summer Theatre, and Opera Las Vegas. I also return to Kansas every summer to design or coordinate costumes for one of the season productions.

Some fun facts about me...

1. I've done costumes for over 30 productions since I moved to Vegas in 2012. (I also worked backstage in wardrobe for over 40 productions since I turned 16)

2. I live for Iced Vanilla Lattes or Ben & Jerry ice cream.

3. I love all animals (even the ones with scales).

Deana

Shop Manager

Well seasoned (she/her), I’m a native of Tucson, daughter to a barber and his beautiful wife.   I have traveled much because of the broadways(Showboat, Fosse, Annie)  and the cirques(Saltimbanco, Amaluna). I received a masters degree from the University of Delaware PTTP in Technical Production of Theater focusing on props and scenic painting, while working in costumes and wardrobe the whole time.  I have taught at Pima Community College backstage stuff, worked at Arizona Theater Company LortB, street performance, community theater (Amerikan Hoodoo, Barbea Williams Dans Theater, Dames Rocket, Aka), summer stock (Utah Shakes, Wisconsin Shake), Old Tucson Studios, and worked at a ceramics factory.

I enjoy sewing patches and welding denim, machine maintenance, and especially customer service.  I am fortunate to work alongside such creative and talented humans, and intend to bring humor and levity to their workday. I intend to leave people better than when I found them.

When I’m not at Pincushion I work as Wardrobe Associate at Meow Wolf Omega Mart and spend time with two roommates who are like framily to me.

I’m audacious and stubborn, dancing a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning.  I love funk and blues over pop and techno.   Since relocating to Las Vegas, I really miss riding my bicycle.
